Update: South Jordan police ID juveniles accused of stealing guns, ammunition

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, May 16, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — South Jordan police have identified two juveniles suspected of stealing two handguns and ammunition from a Sportsman’s Warehouse, officials said, and have taken one into custody.

South Jordan Police Department Lt. Matt Pennington said in a news release that the theft took place on Saturday at approximately 6 p.m. at the store at 10462 S. River Heights Drive.

“Two juveniles headed toward the gun storage area, locating boxes with handguns,” the news release said. “The two suspects took one handgun each and concealed them in their clothing. Prior to leaving the store with the concealed firearms, one of the suspects stole handgun ammunition.”

The theft was detected on May 15 and reported to law enforcement.

Police said they have identified both juveniles and have taken one of them into custody.
