South Ogden man found guilty of murder

OGDEN, Sept. 24, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 33-year-old man has been convicted of a 2016 murder in Ogden.

Jonathan Delgado, of South Ogden, learned the jury’s decision Monday afternoon in Ogden. He was convicted of murder, a first degree felony, and obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony.

Delgado was charged in the Dec. 30, 2016 shooting death of Steven Snider, 37, in the area of 27th Street and Adams Avenue. Snider died at the scene. The Medical Examiner’s office would later determine that the victim was shot in the chest, and the bullet went between two ribs and hit Snider in the heart.

According to information that came out in the trial, Delgado was upset with Snider after he sent a disrespectful message to Delgado’s sister.

Delgado will be sentenced at a later date.
