Man in serious condition after stabbing in South Salt Lake

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, June 3, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man is in serious condition after a stabbing in South Salt Lake City Sunday morning.

South Salt Lake Police Department spokesman Lt. Mike McNaughton told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred in the area of 20 W. Whitlock Avenue (2550 South), on the sidewalk near Bonwood Bowl, at approximately 8 a.m.

The man reported he was assaulted by two men that were not known to him, and stabbed once in the abdomen, McNaughton said.

A woman drove him to the hospital, and the hospital reported the incident to police.

His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

At this time a motive for the stabbing is unclear and police have not released a description of the suspects.
