South Salt Lake woman bound, pistol-whipped in home invasion robbery

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, May 11, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two male suspects in a home invasion robbery in which a woman was injured Thursday morning.

According to a news release from South Salt Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched at about 8:49 a.m. to the area of 200 E. Truman Ave. (2335 South) on a report of a robbery.

The 31-year-old victim told police that two dark-skinned men entered her home, bound her with duct tape and pistol-whipped her. Police say she had a cut, bumps and bruises from the assault and was taken to the hospital by family.

Police have determined that the suspects got into the house through a basement window.

The two suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to the release, a neighbor reported seeing two men driving away, eastbound on Truman Avenue, in a light gray or white compact four-door passenger car.

The suspects are described as dark-skinned men, about 20 years old. One man was wearing a gray sweater.
