Man shot after allegedly breaking into apartment in South Salt Lake

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, June 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 35-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot following an alleged break in at a South Salt Lake apartment complex early Sunday morning.

Police responded on a shooting at the Brickstone Apartments at 220 E. 3300 South shortly before 4:30 a.m., according to a news release from South Salt Lake public information officer Sgt. Matthew Oehler.

“Information from dispatch indicated someone had attempted to break into an apartment and was shot,” the news release said. “A male with apparent gunshot wounds was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.”

The shooter is cooperating with police.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, officials said.
