ST. GEORGE, Utah, Jan. 15, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — St. George police have identified the body of a woman found by hikers on Thursday as that of 31-year-old Natasha Calderon.

Calderon was a resident of St. George. Her body was discovered in the Halfway Wash area near 1700 W. Sunset Blvd. Investigators were able to identify Calderon using personal effects.

On Thursday, St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain, told Gephardt Daily, “The manner of death does not appear suspicious but the fact the body was found in a stream along a trail always is a cause for concern.”

Despain added that investigators did not believe the body had been in the stream for “an extended period of time.”

The cause of death is still unknown but St. George police are working closely with the medical examiner to determine how Calderon died.
