“We received this report a little bit after 11 a.m. Thursday and began responding to do an initial investigation,” Giles said. “In situations like this when we have especially children missing, we call out additional resources immediately and begin a canvas of the immediate area around the residence, the neighborhood and begin to expand.”
Giles said a reverse 911 went out to the area so residents could be informed Brandon was missing.
Officials also notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the organization responded with resources and coordinated with police.
Giles said the situation did not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert.
“It is not confirmed we have an abduction; this is a suspicious circumstance, this is not normal, we would not expect the circumstances we are aware of in our typical missing children, however at this point we are still trying to verify if there’s an explanation, that negates abduction,” he added.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this story as information is made available.
