St. George police warn of counterfeit bills with ‘red Chinese lettering’

ST. GEORGE, Utah, Dec. 3, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — St. George Police Department officials warned Monday they have received multiple reports of counterfeit bills in circulation which have distinct red Chinese lettering.

“These bills are not real currency, and anyone receiving such a bill should immediately contact St. George Police dispatch,” the police department posted on Facebook. “Be sure to exercise due caution when accepting cash, particularly with denominations over $20.”

Officials shared this link where individuals can learn about the various security features on U.S. currency.

Anyone who receives a bill with the red lettering is asked to call SGPD dispatch at 435-627-4300.
