ST. GEORGE, Utah, Feb. 21, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A St. George teen was arrested Monday after he allegedly punched and kneed his pregnant girlfriend, hoping she would have a miscarriage.

A probable cause statement from the 5th District Court of St. George said Trevor Michael Knudson, 18, is facing a charge of third-degree felony aggravated assault.

The arresting officer wrote in the probable cause statement that he was dispatched to an address in Dixie Drive Monday morning on a report of an assault. The 16-year-old victim reported her boyfriend, subsequently identified as Knudson, had assaulted her the night before.

The victim told the arresting officer she is pregnant, Knudson knows she is pregnant, and he is the father of the unborn child.

“She told me he kneed her twice in the stomach, punched her once in the stomach, then grabbed the back of her neck and slammed her against a wall,” the statement said.

The victim said the suspect told her he assaulted her because he wanted her to have a miscarriage.

Post-Miranda, Knudson admitted that the incident took place as the victim reported, the statement said. The suspect was arrested and transported to Washington County Jail where he was charged with aggravated assault. His bail has been set at $5,000.

The felony was committed while Knudson was on probation or parole, the probable cause statement said.
