SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, Dec. 9, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — A semi-truck carrying whey protein concentrate rolled on I-80 near the town of Emory Wednesday morning.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Todd Royce said the crash happened at mile marker 174 in Summit County at 2:07 a.m. when the driver lost control.
Royce said only a small amount of the concentrate spilled, which is a good thing because it is highly flammable.
The driver of the truck was transported by ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden with serious injuries.
Royce said one lane of traffic in each direction re-opened at around 5 a.m.
