Salt Lake City police arrest suspected ‘porch pirate’ found with pilfered mail in stolen car

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police arrested a woman suspected of stealing several packages and other mail as well as a car, Monday afternoon.

Officers were in the area of 500 E. Redondo Ave. (2000 South) just after 3 p.m. when they located a suspect, Christina Martinez, 34, according to a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

“Martinez was found in possession of several stolen packages and other mail,” the news release said. “During the investigation, she was also found to have been in possession of a stolen vehicle.”

Martinez was booked into jail for theft, possession of stolen property and other charges.
