WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Jan. 3, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in West Valley were able to quickly apprehend three suspects who ran from from a stolen vehicle Saturday night.

According to West Valley Police Lt. Blair Barfuss, an officer was following a Honda passenger car just before midnight in the area of 4800 West Cottage Brooke Circle when he noticed the vehicle did not have a license plate.

“The officer attempted to make a stop, and as the vehicle pulled onto a side street, the three occupants took off running from the car,” Barfuss said. “After setting up a containment, officers were able to determine the car was also stolen.”

Barfuss said the three suspects, all in their early 20s, were quickly found and taken into custody.

“As two of the three suspects ran from the car, they lost their shoes,” Barfuss said. “When we found them, two of the three suspects were missing their shoes.”

The identities of the suspects have not been released. Barfuss was unaware of any prior criminal history.
