Salt Lake Police searching for suspect after strong-arm robbery

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 2, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The search is on for a suspect who grabbed a man around the neck and took money from his pockets in Salt Lake City, police said.

The Salt Lake City Police Department said the strong-arm robbery occurred at 51 W. Fayette Ave. (965 South), Wednesday just before 7:50 a.m.

The 23-year-old victim was walking east on Fayette Avenue when the suspect grabbed him around the neck, demanded cash and began to reach into the victim’s pockets until he found money. The suspect was last seen westbound on Fayette Avenue on foot. The victim suffered scratches on his neck.

The suspect was described as approximately 35 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and thin build, with short gray and black hair and a goatee. He was wearing a tan jacket and jeans.
