SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters responded to a blaze in a commercial building early Friday morning.
The fire, at 115 W. 1700 South, was called in just before 5 a.m., said Battalion Chief Kelly Carter, Salt Lake City Fire Department.
“Visible flames from first-arriving crews,” Carter said. “Twenty-five firefighters arrived on scene. They were able to get it under control in about 20 minutes.”
The building was vacant, Carter said. No injuries were reported.
“It was single alarm, four engine companies and a truck company,” he said. The cause was not immediately know.
“We turned it over to our investigative team,” Carter said, adding that the blaze caused an estimated $100,000.
