SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, June 14, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -- The Summit County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 2-year-old child in the Christmas Meadows area on Saturday morning.
"Shortly after the call came in, the child was located by law enforcement and transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Wyoming," says a news release issued by the SCSO.
"The child was later transferred to a Salt Lake area hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death is currently underway."
A family member also was taken to the hospital for a separate medical concern, which is not believed to be directly related to the child’s condition, the release says.
"This remains an active investigation," the release says, adding that "no further information will be released at this time."
