Suspect arrested in Millcreek armed burglaries, car theft

MILLCREEK, Utah, Sept. 5, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect has been arrested after the armed burglary of a Millcreek home.

According to an arrest fact sheet from the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, a man broke into the home, near 3300 South and 1300 East, on Aug. 30, and was confronted by a resident. The suspect pointed a rifle at the resident and demanded money, the fact sheet says.

The suspect then left the residence and took a 2016 Ford Escape, the statement says.

The Ford was spotted a short time later in the parking lot of a nearby Home Depot, where it had been parked after being involved a wreck.

Suspect Kent Charles Gaisford was located in a nearby trailer, which did not belong to him, the statement said. He was found with stolen goods that tied him to at least one earlier burglary, the statement said.

Gaisford was arrested by Unified Police officers, and is facing two charges of aggravated burglary, a second-degree felony, and one count of receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, a second-degree felony.
