OGDEN, Utah, Jan. 16, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man sought by Ogden police after a murder last June has been booked into the Weber County jail.

Keshawn Mykel Puente, 22, faces initial charges of:

  • Murder
  • Felony discharge of a firearm
  • Object rape
  • Three counts of failure to appear on a citation

Puente was a person of interest in the June 13, 2018 shooting death of Denero Lamar Snider, 23, who was killed in a parking lot at 630 23rd St.

Gunshots were reported at about 4:30 p.m. that day, Lt. Tim Scott, an investigator at the Ogden Police Department, told Gephardt Daily at the scene.

Snider was treated by paramedics, then rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

In seeking information on Puente’s whereabouts, Ogden police described the two men as “acquaintances.”

Puente was located in Las Vegas earlier this month, according to police sources, and he was extradited to Ogden.

He was booked into jail on Tuesday.

Puente’s arrest warrants for first-degree felony object rape and class A assault are unrelated to the homicide, police said.
