Suspect found on roof after Salt Lake City bank robbery

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 13, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials located a suspect on a roof following a bank robbery in Salt Lake City Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at the Key Bank at 410 E. 400 South just before 1:50 p.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“A man entered the Key Bank and handed the teller a note demanding money,” the news release said. “After fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, officers located the suspect’s shoe prints left in the snow along with his jacket. Officers tracked the shoe prints to an apartment complex.”

Officers found the suspect hiding on the roof of one of the apartment buildings, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Audie William Russell, 30, was booked into jail for robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
