Suspect threatens clerk with razor blade during Family Dollar robbery

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 22, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A suspect has been charged with aggravated robbery after he threatened a store clerk with a razor blade in Salt Lake City Tuesday morning.

Officers booked Jeremy Olson, 29, into jail for aggravated robbery and multiple warrants, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

The incident occurred at the Family Dollar Store at 50 N. 900 West at approximately 11:55 a.m.

“A female clerk approached a man as he was about to exit a store with merchandise that he had not paid for,” the release said. “The suspect produced a utility razor blade and slashed it at the victim, however he missed.”

Olson was located in the area by officers and was taken into custody.
