EPHRAIM, Utah, Aug. 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was arrested early Thursday morning in Ephraim after area law enforcement officials responded with SWAT team to a report of domestic violence.

Ephraim City police responded to the scene, in the area of Center Street and 200 West, at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, a news release from the police department says.

“As officers arrived on scene, the lights in the residence were turned off,” the statement says. “Deputies with the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist. Officers attempted contact with the residents and received no answer.”

The caller had indicated the victim was possibly being held against her will.

“The suspect involved in the incident has a lengthy and violent criminal history, with a history of domestic violence,” the ECPD statement says. “Further information indicated that firearms were inside the residence.

“Due to the nature of the incident and for the safety of the victim, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was contacted and responded. Utah County SWAT contained the residence and successfully made contact with both the suspect and the victim.”

Both were taken into custody without further incident, the statement said. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of seven firearms. The victim was interviewed and released.

Swan was arrested and booked into the Sanpete County Jail.
