TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Sept. 15, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect who fired shots inside a Taylorsville credit union Friday morning.

Unified Police Department spokesman Lt. Brian Lohrke told Gephardt Daily the suspect fired rounds at the ceiling, and though no one was injured, the staff and customers inside the credit union were understandably shaken up.

The incident occurred at the TransWest Credit Union, 6189 S. Redwood Road, at approximately 11 a.m., Lohrke said.

After demanding and receiving cash, the suspect walked east to his silver van, thought to be a Ford Transit with tinted windows.

He was last seen driving west from the parking lot, Lohrke added.

The suspect was wearing all black, with a plain white mask.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is asked to call the UPD on 801-743-7000.

  1. Our beautiful Salt Lake is gone. We are fast becoming just like any other big city. Robberies, murders, gangs. We have it all now. So sad.
