TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, March 4, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — An 18-year-old Taylorsville High student was arrested on Feb. 27 after police say he returned to the school’s campus while suspended, and admitted to bringing a firearm.
Documents filed in the arrest of Uikilif Taukeiaho say he drove his vehicle into the east parking lot, and “confronted a group of juveniles that were standing north of him in the north field.
“During the confrontation multiple witnesses as well as three juveniles in the group stated they observed (Taukeiaho) brandish a handgun and point it at the group,” says an arrest document filed by an officer of the Taylorsville Police Department.
Taukeiaho “called them names and told the group to go to the park to settle things, then drove away.”
The three juveniles identified Taukeiaho by name and confirmed what he was wearing.
“Video surveillance was also obtained showing the vehicle entering the east parking lot and showing (Taukeiaho) in the driver’s seat and no other occupant visible in the car.
Post Miranda, Taukeiaho “admitted to bringing a Glock 19 onto school grounds and then brandishing the handgun at the group of people while engaged in a verbal argument,” court documents says.
Taukeiaho was arrested for investigation of the alleged crimes of:
- Threatening with/use of dangerous weapon in a fight/quarrel, a class A misdemeanor
- Unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon at school — firearm, a class A misdemeanor
He was released on bail.
