WEST WEBER, Utah, Dec. 6, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A teenage driver was critically injured Monday after she lost control of her car and it was broadsided by a second vehicle.

The 19-year-old woman was driving east at about 7:30 p.m. on 12th Street and about 4300 West. Her Nissan car began drifting off the right shoulder. She over-corrected, and her car began spinning.

It then was broadsided by a Toyota truck headed west, according to the account posted on the WCSO Facebook page.

The female driver was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old man, received minor injuries and was released at the scene.

Deputies are still investigating the accident and no citations have been issued.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office asked people to remain attentive at all times while driving, and added a note to the people involved in the collision:

“We want to wish a fast and speedy recovery to both involved.”
