Update: Riverton teen killed after being hit by a car in Herriman identified

HERRIMAN, Utah, Nov. 2, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A teenage boy who died after being hit by a car Tuesday afternoon in Herriman has been identified.

Unified Police Department, with the permission of the family, has identified the victim as 13-year-old Andrew Ardell Perry Drisdom.

Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen said the incident occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. in the area of 5100 W. Main St. when the Riverton 13-year-old, walking north, was hit by a car traveling westbound in the inside lane. There is no crosswalk in that area.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but then was called off.

Main Street at 5100 West was closed in both directions for approximately three hours after the crash.
