RIVERDALE, Utah, April 18, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A teenage boy was taken into custody early Tuesday evening after reports of shots fired in a park next to Riverdale Elementary School.

No one was injured, and it was unclear what the 15-year-old boy had been aiming at.  Riverdale police officers said at least one gun and some ammunition was found on the youth, who initially fled but was then taken into custody without incident.

The shots were reported at about 5:15 p.m. near Riverdale Park, at 4300 Parker Road. Charges were not immediately filed against the suspect. Officers speculated that the school was not the target, as it was out of session for the day.
