Update: Police Seek Vehicle Reportedly Used By Suspect In Teen Shooting Death

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 7, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a vehicle thought to have been used by the suspect in the shooting death of 16-year-old Paris Gustin Tuesday in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City Police Department Lt. Craig Gleason said dispatchers received multiple calls of gunfire around 4 a.m., and when officers arrived, they found Gustin’s body inside a vehicle at 985 S. 1100 West.

Investigators believe the teen may have actually been shot in the vicinity of 600 N. 1000 West where detectives discovered numerous shell casings.

SLCPD said in a news release Thursday they are searching for the vehicle thought to have been used by the suspect in the shooting. Images captured on surveillance in the Rose Park area show a white Nissan Sentra with fog lights, a small rear spoiler and tinted back passenger and rear windows. It is possible the suspect may live in that general area.

The Police Department asks anyone who may know the identity of this person of interest to call 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips may be sent by text to 274637. A GoFundMe page has been set up by the family to assist with funeral expenses for Gustin.
