Update: Power restored for thousands in Utah County

OREM, Utah, Aug. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — More than 2,400 power customers in and around Orem were left without electricity Saturday morning after a semi pulled down power lines.

“A high-loaded semi pulled down power lines at 200 E. Center,” a Facebook post from the Orem Police Department says.

The accident happened at Center Street near 400 E. State.

An alert on the Rock Mountain Power website estimated the number of clients affected as 2,416 as of 1 p.m. Saturday. By 2:30 p.m., the site reported that power was restored in the affected area.
