TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Dec. 2, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Three fugitives from Salt Lake City were taken into custody Friday night in two separate incidents that both ended in Taylorsville.

Unified Police Lt. D. McConkey said the Metro Gang Unit got word that two men wanted for parole violations were in the area. The fugitives were tracked to an apartment complex at 2276 W. 4185 South, where they came to a dead-end street.

McConkey said the pair bailed out of the car, which had been stolen, and one was taken into custody without incident, while the other man took off on foot. That man was located by a K-9 officer a short while later and was arrested. McConkey said police also recovered a handgun.

Jose Valdez and Victor Garza are now facing new charges for possession of a firearm by a restricted person, in addition to the parole violations, McConkey said.

In the other incident, Metro Gang detectives followed Feuu Fagatece to 3891 W. Ridgeview Way, where he was dropped off. Officers arrested him at that address.

Fagatece was wanted for violating parole and was allegedly armed, McConkey said, adding that officers found a holster and gun magazines in the car and were obtaining a warrant to search the house.

Both incidents occurred during the same time period Friday night, McConkey said, so the Metro Gang Unit split its resources and the Taylorsville Street Crimes Unit assisted in the arrests. No one was injured in either case.
