TOOELE, Utah, Dec. 26, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Tooele are investigating a fatal Christmas night auto-pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a 32-year-old woman.
According to a statement posted on social media by the Tooele City Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Skyline Drive and Main Street about 10:15 p.m. on reports of a “disorderly female” at a local business.
While officers were responding to the call, they received word the woman had been struck by a pickup truck.
“Emergency responders provided life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene,” the TCPD statement said.
“Our initial investigation revealed that the pickup truck was traveling southbound and “the female was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.”
The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said
“We are also still in the process of locating and notifying the decedent’s next of kin.”
Charges in this case are pending, based on the outcome of the investigation.
