TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, July 4, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -- The Tooele County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a man missing since June 20.
"On June 22, 2025, deputies responded to the Leppy Pass area near the Salt Flats after receiving a report of an abandoned vehicle," the sheriff's office said in a Tuesday post online. "Upon arrival, they discovered the vehicle belonged to Salvador Conejo Pedraza, who had been reported missing to the West Wendover Police Department by his family." Leppy Flats is five miles east of Wendover, Utah, which is adjacent to West Wendover, Nev., sharing the Utah-Nevada state line.
Salvador was last seen by his family on Friday, June 20, around 7 p.m., the sheriff said, leaving his residence in West Wendover. "He did not report to work over the weekend, which is highly unusual. His wallet was left at home, and he has not contacted anyone since."
Using license plate reader data, detectives confirmed that Salvador’s vehicle passed through the I-80 Echo Port of Entry on Saturday, June 21, at 3:21 p.m. Echo is in Summit County.
Surveillance footage from a nearby gas station shows his vehicle traveling on Bonneville Speedway Road multiple times between June 20 and June 21, heading toward the area where it was ultimately found.
"Multiple search efforts involving K9s, drones, and search and rescue teams have taken place since the vehicle was located, but Salvador has not yet been found.
"If you have any information about Salvador’s whereabouts or saw anything suspicious in the area, please contact the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (435) 882-5600."
