TOOELE, UTAH – August 28, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) Two rare and expensive iguanas stolen from Rockstar Pets pet store in Tooele were anonymously returned to their owners Tuesday morning.

According to Tanya Turnbow, spokesperson for Tooele City Police, someone forced entry into the store by damaging the roof on August 20, then stole two valuable iguanas.

On August 25, five days later the iguanas were dropped off at the rear of the store unharmed.

A male then called the store via pay phone and told employees the reptiles had been returned.

Through the use of surveillance footage Tooele City Police detectives and the store employees were able to identify the male from the footage. They say he is Christopher Proctor, a 35-year-old male from Tooele.

Detectives soon learned Proctor is no longer in the Tooele area and a motive for the theft is not known at this time.

Charges of third degree felony burglary and misdemeanor vandalism against Proctor have been sent to the Tooele District Attorney’s officer for review.
