PRICE, Utah, Dec. 11, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Sunnyside man was arrested early Saturday morning after a traffic stop yielded a large amount of drugs, including almost a pound of marijuana and more than an ounce of methamphetamine.

Ryan Scott Ferguson, 43, was arrested and booked into the Carbon County Jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and methamphetamine, both second-degree felonies; possession of paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor; driving with no insurance, a class B misdemeanor; and driving on revoked registration, a class C misdemeanor, according to a news release from Price City Police Department.

The news release said that just after midnight, an officer stopped a vehicle near 400 S. 400 East in Price because it had a revoked registration for not having insurance. Dispatch confirmed the revoked registration and that there was no insurance on the vehicle.

Soon after, officers discovered and seized almost a pound of marijuana and just more than an ounce of methamphetamine, as well as various items of paraphernalia, including a scale, packaging materials for distribution and syringes.

The Carbon County Attorney will screen the reports to determine appropriate formal charges.

Ferguson has 25 previous arrests on his history, including offenses for assault, alcohol violations, DUI, drug offenses, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated robbery, domestic violence, weapons offenses, theft and forgery.
