Trio faces 43 charges after 26 guns, contraband confiscated from Salt Lake City residence

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Three people have been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail after police detectives served a warrant on a Salt Lake City residence.

“They were able to recover drugs as well as 26 guns, to include at least six stolen,” a tweet from the Salt Lake City Police Department says. “We would like to thank our detectives for getting these guns out of the hands of criminals.”

Also recovered was 33.4 grams of heroin, 23.1 grams of meth, 2.8 grams of marijuana, 0.2 grams of cocaine and $8,936 in cash.

Police went to the residence, in the area of 800 N. Sir Patrick Drive, at about midnight as Tuesday turned into Wednesday, Detective Jeff Peria, Salt Lake City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.

The suspects were booked on a combined total of 43 charges.

Tetlo Dannie Goings, 59, was booked on suspicion of:

  • Two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, a second-degree felony
  • Theft by receiving stolen property, a second-degree felony
  • Fifteen counts of purchase, transport or possession of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony

Tresa Nicole Morris, 36, was booked on suspicion of:

  • Two counts of theft by receiving stolen property, a second-degree felony
  • Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, a second-degree felony
  • Fifteen counts of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third degree felony
  • Use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor

Zelo Agoskie Goings, 55, was booked on suspicion of:

  • Operation of a clandestine laboratory, a first-degree felony
  • Three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, two second-degree felonies and one a third-degree felony
  • Theft by receiving stolen property, a second-degree felony
  • Controlled substances schedule 1 or 2, a class A misdemeanor

Each suspect was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Probable cause statements indicated that in the bedroom of Titlo Goings and throughout the residence, zipper baggies and scales for packaging were found. Glass pipes with burn marks and residue and 15 firearms, including two stolen, were found in the bedroom, which tested positive for meth and heroin.

Morris shared a bedroom with Tetlo Goings, and faces some of the same charges based on what was found in the room.

In Zelo Goings’ bedroom, marijuana and heroin were found. Post Miranda, he “stated he is actively cooking cocaine in order to make crack, evidence of this was located in the bedroom,” his probable cause statement says.

“Crack cocaine was located in bedroom, field test positive. Firearm that was confirmed stolen and listed as stolen on NCIC, located in room adjacent to bedroom next to residency papers for the A/P (arrested person).”
