SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, May 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol is looking for information regarding a passenger car believed to have caused a serious motorcycle accident in a possible road-range incident.

The accident left an 18-year-old man in critical condition with head injuries.

A statement from Lt. Todd Royce, Utah Highway Patrol, says that at about 3:45 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the scene at State Route 32, mile marker 15, just south of Oakley.

“The white passenger car passed the motorcycles and was brake checking them,” the statement says.

“One motorcycle attempted to catch up to the white passenger car when the car decided to brake check the motorcycle. This sudden decrease in speed caused the motorcycle to crash into the rear of the passenger car.

“The passenger car then fled the scene and is outstanding at this time. The white passenger car is believed to be a newer model Chevy Malibu, white in color, and minor rear end damage from the tire of the motorcycle.”

The victim was flown by helicopter to the University of Utah hospital with head injuries, and remains in critical condition, the UHP statement says.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or driver of the white passenger car is asked to call Summit dispatch at 435-615-3600.
