LINDON, Utah, Sept. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Drivers on I-15 southbound at Lindon are facing major delays Friday afternoon after a semi-truck pulling a crane hit an overpass, according to officials.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said all southbound lanes were shut down after the accident at mile post 273 at 200 South in Lindon just after 10 a.m. As of noon, the left three lanes were still closed and the right three lanes were reopened, Royce said.

He said the crane was loaded onto a flatbed trailer pulled by a semi-truck, and officials are working to load the crane onto another truck, since it fell off.

Royce said the driver of the semi-truck had cuts and abrasions to his face but his injuries were minor. He was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident.

The freeway should be reopened fully by 2 p.m., Royce added.
