WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, March 1, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in West Valley City say the victims in an early Friday morning crash were teenage brothers.

West Valley City Police Lt. Shane Matheson told Gephardt Daily the accident happened about 12:06 a.m. when the twins’ eastbound passenger car crossed the median on 4100 South near 4520 West and slammed head-on into a westbound SUV.

The brothers have been identified as 17-year-old Sage Snow, and his brother, 16-year-old Rylie Snow. Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driver of the westbound SUV sustained minor injuries, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Matheson said slick roads and poor visibility may have been factors in the deadly accident, but stressed the investigation was just beginning. He said there was no overt evidence of impairment, but it would take weeks for toxicology reports to be returned.

Investigators spent several hours at the accident site overnight.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information is made available.
