MILLCREEK CANYON, UTAH – October 4, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Two hikers had to be rescued from Millcreek Canyon after getting lost late Saturday night.

According to Unified Police Detective Chuck Malm, search and rescue crews were called around 7 p.m., to 5800 East Millcreek Canyon, after two hikers called a friend and said they were wet and cold and unable to navigate their way back to the trail.

Unified Police officers were able to make contact with the hikers, a 25-year-old male and a 23-year old female, by cell phone and were able to get a general idea of where they were located. Rescue crews were able to locate the Hikers around 10:45 p.m. about 1000 feet from the Grandeur Peak summit.

The hikers were cold and wet but in good condition and they were able to walk down the mountain with the help of SAR officers.

The hikers were not injured and did not any medical attention.
