WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Aug. 30, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene of a fatal crash involving two semi trucks Monday morning in West Valley City.
The accident happened at 5600 W. State Route 201.
“At approximately 10 a.m., UHP dispatch center received two calls of a hazardous semi driving three to five miles per hour on SR-201 westbound at 5600 West,” a UHP statement says.
“Shortly after, they received a call of a crash. A semi in the right lane rear-ended the other, slow driving semi. The driver of the second semi was pronounced dead on scene by the fire department.”
SR-201 westbound was closed at 10:24 a.m. and traffic was diverted to 5600 West.
According to the UDOT traffic site, traffic is expected to be impacted until about 5:30 p.m.
