BOUNTIFUL, Utah, July 25, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Bountiful Police Department is asking for information on a double shooting which happened Sunday near 1300 East and 400 North.

Assistant Chief Dave Edwards of Bountiful PD told Gephardt Daily police received a call from a resident just before 6 a.m. saying two male gunshot victims had come to his house asking for help.

“We made contact with the two wounded males. They’re both in their 20s. Their injuries were not life-threatening,” Edwards said.

Investigators have determined the shooting happened near the intersection of 1300 East 400 North, and that the suspects fled the area in a “silver Hyundai Sonata, reportedly drive by a black female, with a black male passenger,” according to a statement by Bountiful Police released later in the day.

“The victims and the suspects are believed to know each other and are all residents of Salt Lake City,” the statement said.  “Although the shooting occurred in and around a vehicle, it is not believed to have been a carjacking.”

The investigation remains open. Anyone with information related to this crime is asked to contact Bountiful Police detectives at 801-298-6000.
