WASATCH COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol on Sunday responded to a crash between a passenger car and a semi on State Route 6 near Soldier Summit.

According to a UHP news release, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a green Mazda was heading east on SR-6 near mile marker 211.

The Mazda hydroplaned into the westbound lane and collided head on with a Fed Ex semitrailer, the release states.

Everyone in both vehicles was wearing their seat belt. The passenger in the Mazda received a minor injury and was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

“It appears that speed was a factor due to the wet road conditions, traffic is able to get through the area,” the release says.

  1. Super glad to hear the driver of the Mazda survived! We drove by immediately after the crash, and only saw the other side of the car… it didn’t look good!!! My 30~something year old son was in a very bad accident 7 months ago, and had just begun his recovery… Big thanks to all of the people who were there to give aid and to help! Both with the drivers of both vehicles and to keep the remaining traffic flowing! We are grateful to those who report the news to us, as well! Thanks so much! You are all greatly appreciated!
