JUAB COUNTY, Utah, Feb. 1, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Utah Highway Patrol vehicle was rear-ended as it stopped to assist another motorist Sunday night.

According to UHP, the trooper was traveling south on I-15 at 6:30 p.m. and was pulling to the right shoulder to assist a motorist whose car had slid off the roadway.

As the trooper slowed down, with his emergency lights on, a pickup that had been traveling behind him lost control and slid into the rear of his vehicle.

Both the trooper’s vehicle and the pickup sustained minor damage.

Neither the trooper nor the pickup driver was injured.

UHP reminds motorists to slow down when driving in winter-like conditions, and to move over if a trooper is on the side of the road with emergency lights activated.
