TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, June 6, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Drivers across the northern Wasatch Front are being warned to take care Thursday evening as high winds and thunderstorms impact the state.
A tweet from Utah Highway Patrol at 5:30 p.m. said: “We are seeing some high winds along the Wasatch Front and on I-80 in Tooele. High profile vehicles and motorcyclists use caution. This semi at MM 85 on westbound I-80 couldn’t avoid being blown over.”
There is a severe thunderstorm warning for the northern Wasatch Front and Cache Valley until 6:30 p.m., “with primary threat being damaging winds,” according to a tweet from the National Weather Service of Salt Lake City.
In addition, an Urban Flood Advisory is in effect until 8:30 p.m. for the northern Wasatch Front, the NWS Salt Lake City tweeted. “The line of storms currently approaching is capable of producing heavy rain that could lead to minor urban flooding,” the tweet said.
