Unified Fire crews find canoe during potential swiftwater rescue operation

MIDVALE, Utah, Aug. 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Fire crews found a canoe during a potential swiftwater rescue operation Thursday evening.

Unified Fire Authority responded to possible swift water rescue situation after reports of a canoe upside down near Famous Dave’s barbecue

“Crews have followed the river up and down stream as far as Wheeler Farm,” said a tweet from UFA at 9:15 p.m. “Caller stated they did not see a person just the canoe.”

Crews found the canoe just off of 6400 South, said a follow-up tweet. 

“No indication of any victims; final search conducted,” the tweet stated. “Call ended at 9:10 p.m. after confirming with caller it was the canoe they saw and that they did NOT see a person when they called.”
