SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, April 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Unified Police Department announced on Wednesday that the skeletal remains found last month in Deaf Smith Fork Canyon Sunday are those of Murray resident Kellie Josephson, who was 55 when she went missing in June of 2015.

The remains were found by hikers, and were judged to be those of a female between ages 30 and 50. The Medical Examiner’s Office completed a more thorough investigation, using dental records, and confirmed the body was that of Josephson.

Also found at the scene of the remains were a syringe and three bottles of insulin; two full and one empty. An official cause of death is still under investigation.

Josephson, who did not have a vehicle, was last seen by her family after saying she was going to Rexburg, Idaho, to visit relatives.
