RIVERTON, Utah, Jan. 4, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Unified Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 17-year-old girl from Riverton.

UPD Lt. Brian Lohrke said Taylor Shields went missing from her family home in the area of 1900 W. 12000 South on Dec. 30. Lohrke said Shields had gotten in trouble at school and her phone and car were subsequently taken away by her parents. The teen then climbed out of her bedroom window with a bag of clothes and ran away.

Lohrke said that police do not think there are any criminal elements surrounding the teen’s disappearance, and there are no life-threatening elements involved, such as that she needs medication that she does not have.

Anyone who sees Shields or has any information is asked to call the UPD at 801-743-7000.
