MIDVALE, Utah, Dec. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say robbed a woman after she responded to his classified ad on KSL.com.

The woman reportedly wanted to buy gifts to donate to Sub for Santa, and answered the advertisement on KSL classifieds hoping she could get more for her money, according to a news release from the UPD.

The woman arranged to meet a seller on Nov. 30 to purchase items listed on the site. The meeting place was the McDonalds at 425 W. 7200 South, in Midvale.

A man arrived and identified himself as the placer of the ad, then he produced a weapon and robbed the woman of the cash she had brought, according to the news release. The man then fled the area.

UPD investigators believe the suspect frequents the Midvale area, and are hoping the public can recognize him from a surveillance photo, which captured his image and that of a distinctive carrier rack attached to his bicycle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the UPD at 385-468-9819.
