MILLCREEK, Utah, July 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officials have released additional surveillance video of a vehicle believed to have been involved in a Millcreek hit-and-run incident Saturday, which critically injured a woman who had left her vehicle in hopes of assisting a cat that had been hit and left in the roadway.
The victim, 20-year-old Lindsey Vanorman, of Salt Lake City, later died of her injuries, UPD announced Sunday.
The new video, recently located, is from the area of 2700 South and 2000 East, and was recorded at 6:01 a.m., just a few minutes after the hit-and-run incident at 3051 S. 2300 East.
Unified Police previously released two other surveillance videos, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, believed to be of the suspect vehicle. They can be viewed below.
Released Saturday by UPD.
Released Sunday by UPD.
UPD investigators hope someone will recognize the suspect vehicle. They are also asking for contact from another vehicle that was reported at the scene.
“The black SUV, from the original footage, was stopped by the victim’s vehicle and was in the middle lane with its hazards on near the time of the incident,” the Sunday UPD statement says.
“They may have been a witness to the victim being hit, and we would like to emphasize the black SUV is not the suspect vehicle, only someone who may have information, which we are in hopes they may come forward with.”
“If you have any information that could bring justice for the victim, please come forward. Your tip could be the key to solving this case and ensuring that the perpetrator is held accountable,” the UPD statement says.
