DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah, March 29, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Two wildfires burning in Duchesne County have merged into one, officials said Monday evening.

“#EastMyton and #NorthRiver fires have merged,” said a tweet from Utah Fire Info at 6:30 p.m. “Ten structures threatened. Oil and power infrastructure threatened.”

Utah Fire Info said in a tweet at 4:30 p.m. the East Myton fire was 200 acres and 10% contained.

“Structures threatened,” the tweet said. “Three tribal and one private residence have been evacuated. Fuel type is sagebrush and grass.”

Forty mph winds may be contributing to the spread.

The second wildfire, the North River fire, was first estimated at 50 to 60 acres.

“Both fires human caused under investigation,” the Utah Fire Info initial statement said.

Gephardt Daily will have more information as details become available.
