WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Aug. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A husband and wife who died after a motorcycle accident in West Valley City in the early hours of Sunday morning have been identified by officials.

West Valley City Police officials tweeted the deceased have been identified as Kenneth Mounteer, who was operating the motorcycle, and his wife Aubrey Mounteer, the passenger, both 30.

Neither was wearing a helmet; speed was a factor in the crash, officials said.

The crash near 5400 S. 7040 West, which occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m., initially left Aubrey Mounteer deceased at the scene and Kenneth Mounteer in extremely critical condition and barely clinging to life, according to West Valley City police officials.

Kenneth Mounteer was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in delta minus condition. He passed away Monday morning, officials said.

Aubrey Mounteer’s body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Salt Lake City.

A GoFundMe page set up by family friends said: “Aubrey and Kenney leave behind four young children… I am starting this fund to help with funeral expenses and to help their children. Please donate if you can or just share. All donations will go to Aubrey’s mother and Aubrey’s children. I am heartbroken for this family!”

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
