EMERY COUNTY, Utah, May 6, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A homicide investigation is now underway after a body was found in Emery County Thursday afternoon.
Detectives responded to the scene after the body was reported to the dispatch center for Emery County Sheriff’s Office. The deceased was subsequently identified as William Randy Jones, 61, of Price, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The body was located on a cut-off road between Mohrland and Hiawatha, according to a followup news release.
“That discovery has led to a homicide investigation,” the news release said. “ECSO personnel have been working diligently the past few days identifying person(s) of interest and conducting interviews. The investigation is ongoing and search warrants are being prepared.”
Officials said more information will be released once a suspect or suspects have been arrested and charges filed.
